ATTENTION!!!
Since I originally made this video, it has come to my notice that a number of people have had difficulties with the round-lobed security bits I mention in the video. I am now recommending that stove repairers NOT use these bits. The rounded lobes can easily slip out of the penta when the penta-screw is held very tightly and damage the penta-screw beyond repair and with no ability to extract it. DO NOT USE THESE BITS! This caution applies to similar bits sold by a vendor that goes by the name Quie*Sto*e (Q*ietS*ove). Those tools from that vendor WILL destroy your caps!
You can get cap washers and SRV pips in the USA at reasonable prices from eBay vendor “spinnakerspar” as of this time (3/2019).
If you do not wish to use one of my wrenches, it is an easy matter to use a hand-file to file the end of an Allen (hex) wrench to fit the penta with sharp and appropriate edges. There is at least one vendor in Asia who is also making the penta-tool. Check eBay for their listing, or check my parts supplier list at: https://www.berniedawg.com/stove-part-supplier-links/

Here’s a video on how I refurbish SRV (Safety Release Valve) stove caps found on Svea 123Rs, Optimus 8Rs, Optimus 111 family stoves and other stoves that may have them. If you choose to follow my methods, you do so at your own risk.
I also sell the wrench seen in the video. The refined edges of the tip fit the penta screw more exactly. They are $40 plus $8 shipping in the USA. You can find me by going to my website at:

I’m not really in the business of making pips and washers, sorry.
