After a light snow fall, I take the f-150, with mom’s plywood snowplow mounted to it, and clear part of the yard, first segment shows the plow in action, from inside the house, next is an in truck view of the snowplow in heavy action, then at the 8 minute mark, I take you around and show you mom’s plow and how it is set-up and hooked-up…
Unique and totally original in its conception, no trip edges and can do most terrains (with shoes on during thaw and until there is a good snow base on the ground).
The truck is going to be going up to my mom’s property, as soon as I finish building my new Hot water Heater snowplow, for my new truck (1999 Ford F-150 4X4 Lariat edition)…
Until then, I will continue to plow both properties.
At this point I am testing out the hook-up system and newly re-enforced plow arms. As for the Plywood snowplow itself, it has been pushing snow for a few Years now, up at my mom’s. I believe it was first built for the 92 Caravan and ended up being used with the Lincoln car , then a ford ranger 4X4 (lifted 6 inches on hockey pucks), followed by an 88 ranger 2wd, and now the 2000 f-150XL 2wd. the hook-up systems have varied greatly, at the vehicle end, but have remained basically the same on the plow side… pipes with muffler clamps, chain links and removable links. At the plow side, the pipes are nestled into holes drilled into the wood and then fastened using other pipes, attached with nuts and bolts, or lag bolts on one end and muffler clamps at the other end…
The winch is out of the box 4,000lbs ATV-UTV electric winch.
Pipes are attached the the front pumper via muffler clamps, and secured into place using seat-belts and straps tied to the fender rails, as well as the front under hood panel (when the hood is shut, the whole thing is strong).
A set of tire chains bought from Amazon (including the rubber tension rings).
Some fire wood and a couple of heavy rocks , in the bed for traction.
The plow shoes were special made at a local welding shop (ordered by my uncle) for use when ground is not frozen and until there is a decent base on the ground (we do not scrape clean)…
