Sometimes the mounting hardware bolts can strip or become stuck on a skateboard. Some people try to saw them off, but there is an easier way to remove stuck skate hardware quickly without causing any damage to the deck.
There are 2 different sizes for commonly used cross head or Phillips head screw drivers. Skate hardware requires a size number 2 screw driver or size 2 phillips head bit.
All you need is a screw/drill gun, a 5/32 drill bit, and a 3/16 drill bit.
Step 1:
Clamp or hold the nut on the end of the bolt. Drill into the head of the bolt about 1/8th of an inch using the 5/32 drill bit.
Step 2:
Using the 3/16 bit, drill into the hole you made using the 5/32 bit until the head of the bolt comes off.
If the head of the bolt is becomes stuck on the drill bit holt it with a pliers and twist the head off of the drill bit.
This method works for all skateboard hardware including street skateboards, downhill and longboard skateboards.
